A Juhu Apartment
A family apartment near the sea, designed around durability, daylight and the number of people who pass through it on any given day.
The owners asked for a home that could take everyday use without looking like it. Surfaces were chosen for that first — light oak, jute, cotton, unlacquered brass — materials that age rather than wear out.
Storage was built into the walls so the floor could stay clear. Colour was kept to a narrow band of cream, sand and pale wood, with one or two warmer notes to stop it turning clinical.
It is a restrained home, but not a precious one. Everything in it is meant to be used.
