Design Concept
A Coastal Weekend Home
A weekend house a few hours from Mumbai, built for salt air, humidity and long stretches of being empty.
Material choice was the whole project. Anything that would corrode, swell or fade was ruled out early, which narrowed the palette to lime plaster, teak, stone, cotton and cane.
Rooms open onto shaded verandahs, so the house can be lived in with the doors open for most of the year.
The interiors are deliberately spare — a place that takes ten minutes to open up and close down again.
Project photography for this concept is in preparation and will be published here shortly.
