The Colaba Café
A forty-cover café in a heritage Colaba building, where the existing architecture was the strongest material available.
Very little was added to the shell. Arched windows, stone floors and high ceilings were cleaned back and left visible.
New elements are deliberately light: a marble counter, cane and timber seating, warm low pendants. Everything is scaled so the room still reads as the room, not as a fit-out.
Seating was planned for both the morning single customer and the evening group of six, without rearranging furniture.
